During the year, EWB-LA hosts occasional events around the Los Angeles area. Past events have taken place in Venice, Costa Mesa, Pasadena, San Pedro, Hollywood, and Baja California. Examples of past events include house-builds, tabling at earth-day festivals, field trip to Cal-Earth Institute in Hesperia, etc. Festivities and social events or community outreach activities allow members and guests to participate and make a difference here in Southern California, at the same time that we work to make a difference abroad.

Mark your calendars! Join EWB-LA and members of LA's greater engineering community for free appetizers, open bar, and live music by DJ Amnesick and Louden Swain. There will also be a silent auction of handcrafted goods brought back from India and Malawi by EWB-LA volunteers as well as other items generously donated by area businesses.

Registration is still open! Join fellow EWB-LA professional members in San Luis Obispo to network with other EWB chapters from the west coast region (WA, OR, CA, NV, HI, & AK), professional and student alike, and acquire valuable training geared to address typical challenges of an EWB project. Technical sessions cover drilling wells, solar systems design, compressed earth block construction, water distribution, and more. Non-technical sessions include chapter management workshops, fundraising strategies, NGO relationships, etc. This event is a great way to learn more about EWB and have some fun too.
